I'm not totally new to online gaming ... I've been playing since the original Quake ... but I had never played Counter-Strike until just a few days ago. Specifically, Counter-Strike: Source. No game has ever made me feel like such a newbie. I've read lots of guides since starting, but there's one thing I can't find addressed in any of the guides. It seems like when someone starts firing at me with a SMG, I suddenly move very, very slowly. The instant I notice I'm taking damage, I try to strafe left or right -- but it's no good, it's like I'm pinned down. I can move about as fast as if I were crouching. So once someone starts firing at me, they've pretty much killed me, because I sure can't get out of the way. Yet I don't seem to have this effect on others when I fire at them. So what's going on? Is this normal? Is there something I'm not doing right?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
